Framing lumber traders continued to grind out a living, but many saw more customers come around after midweek. A general sense that buyers were more attentive to their needs was driven by a recognition that supplies were not as readily available as they had been in previous weeks. This was particularly the case in the West, where production was constrained and more buyers needing to cover jobs stirred. Yet demand was far from robust, and some traders continued to express frustration with anemic trading.

Demand for structural panels was lackluster. Thin sales of OSB were relatively balanced with reduced production, and prices in most regions showed little change. Most Southern Pine plywood producers let a slow week pass without adjusting quotes, relying on order files that at least covered next week's output. However, some weakness in rated sheathing showed up on the eastside. Western Fir plywood producers sold enough to keep up with production, usually keeping order files a few days in front of them.
