Randell and Young Swamp Kauri ltd

We are a company who specialise in the extraction of ancient kauri( agathsis australias) a soft wood that have been growing for upto 1200 years. It is a conifer and is the 3rd largest tree species in the world. All timber we harvest has been felled by natural events such as tsunamis and cyclones, and the trees have been preserved in the swamps and wetlands in the far northern regions of New Zealand, therefore we cut no standing timber down. All the timber we extract has been buried for between 2000-45,000 years and remains perfectly preserved. The timber has many uses e.g furniture table tops, flooring, panneling, wood turning, musical instrument making, plus many more and has many diffent characters and grains. It is unique to the Far north of New Zealand and, is found nowhere else on the planet. the logs we extract can be up to 24 meters long and 15 foot through, and can weight up to 100-150 tonne wet, therefore we have to be cut them into 4-6 metre lengths just to get them out of the ground.
We have over 30 years experience in finding and extracting the logs and are the pioneers in our industry.

We are looking for companies who are looking to buy our product in either log form or sawn timber form that want to sell a very high end product to their existing markets. we will also consider joint ventures or partnerships with the right companies.

We can supply up to 2000 tonnes in log form per month.
