has reported (www.bernama.com.my) that the Malaysian Minister of Primary
Industries has suggested that consideration would be given to either
banning or restriction the export of Rubberwood in order to secure
supplies for local industries. It
has been reported that stocks of Rubberwood logs and sawnwood have fallen
sharply in recent months as fewer plantations have been felled for
replanting and because consumption by domestic industries has increased.
