Malaysia

Malaysia's Minister of Primary Industries has said that a Furniture Promotion Council for Malaysia will be established to further support manufactures. The local media in Malaysia has reported that the new council would get a start-up grant and finance for a design centre.

The Malaysian furniture sector has been seeing increased competition from Chinese and eastern European companies which are producing good quality products at low prices.
