------------------------ GELO Holzwerke GmbH (GELO Timber Industries) GELO Timber Industries is at home in the heart of one of Germany's most forested areas, the Fichtelgebirge mountain range. In the past decades, GELO continuously developed from a traditional sawmill to a state of the art timber machining plant. In the affiliated planing facility, finished individual and mass products are manufactured for the German and the international market using two planing lines. Most of these products are kiln-dried in advance in one of the eight drying chambers to an average moisture content of 16%. Neither two world wars, nor two devastating conflagrations in 1918 and 1992 were able to stop the constant upward trend. With an annual cutting rate of more than 200 000 cubic meters and the most advanced sawmill technology, GELO is among the largest and most renowned timber processing companies in Germany |
