The Mayr-Melnhof Holz Holding AG is one of the most traditional European wood industry companies, which thanks to continuous investments in its locations and in state-of-the-art product technologies as well as in many acquisitions has risen to be among the leading providers in the sawn timber and wood processing sector. The Mayr-Melnhof Holz Holding AG is the leading European provider in the wood processing sector and on ranks third on the European market for sawn wood. The internationalisation, which started in 2000 with a special focus on Eastern European markets resulted in the construction and commissioning of the largest Czech sawmill in Paskov in 2003/2004. Here, also pellets are being produced from the by-products sawdust and planing chips since 2007. In Russia, the construction of the large scale sawmill Efimovskij started in 2006. The sawmill will started operation in spring 2009.
