Becham is a successful, family-run timber company that supplies high quality hardwood and softwood products to meet a wide range of specifications. Established in 1963, we are based in East Anglia and offer reliably sourced timber from Europe and North America, machined on site to a very high quality. We are proud of our timber background - a history of traditional craftsmanship balanced by an investment in people, in new technology, quality control and in lasting relationships with our trade clients.

Customers range from large and small-scale furniture manufacturers, to joiners, building contractors, shopfitters, local carpenters and small, specialist traders. They have one thing in common - the need for high quality wood products where the machining, grade, colour and texture are never compromised. We understand the needs of our customers. With knowledge handed down three generations of timber merchants, our staff exceed expectations and meet the most unique milling and product requirements. Yet despite our progressive attitude, we never forget our roots. BECHAM remains a family-run business whose staff takes great pride in every job. Each customer - and each job - is treated individually.

We stock a wide range of temperate hardwood and softwood in different grades and species on our six acre site in Ardleigh, Essex. Hardwoods from France and the eastern USA are a speciality with all softwood sourced from reputed Scandinavian mills.

Whatever the job, all timber can be cut to match your specifications. At BECHAM, we pride ourselves on the accuracy of our machining - making us the ideal choice if you require wood cut to an exceptional quality. A wide range of sawn or semi-processed timbers are available for cutting to bespoke specifications. A wide range of wood products are also made to measure. French Oak is used to create glorious looking, high performance solid strip hardwood flooring ideal for hallways, living rooms and kitchens - machined on site and cut to length. We are also a supplier of The Ekowood Collection of high quality, hardwood three ply parquet flooring. By using wide boards in full lengths and random widths, we create marvellous worktops and tabletops ideal for a "traditional-style" kitchen, period property or country farmhouse.

Oak beams sourced in France are readily available to form the centrepiece of a period refurbishment or add Old World charm to a new property. Each beam is individual and slowly matures, ensuring that as your property ages over time so too the beams grow in character. We also undertake special commissions for architectural features in listed buildings and intricate one-off pieces of machining.

Our experienced buying team makes regular trips to Europe and North America to continue improving the quality of our timber. We liaise closely with small specialist sawmills to ensure the wood is sourced and cut to our exacting standards.
