The Internet Clearing Desk (ICD) on Timbersa.com is a service launched by the South African Lumber Millers?Association (SALMA) in cooperation with Timbersa.com to improve international trading, particularly export, of timber and related products.
Initial funding of the ICD has been secured through the National Productivity Institute (NPI) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in the form of Sector Partnership Funding (SPF). Participants in the ICD include members of SALMA, its customers in the industry, (i.e. pole manufacturers, furniture manufacturers, secondary manufacturers such as roof trusses) and subscribers to the SA Lumber Index.
